What are Dental Implants?
A Dental Implant is a lightweight titanium cylinder that is placed surgically into the jaw bone. It becomes the replacement root for a missing tooth. It takes 3-4 months for the Dental Implant to become secure to you jaw bone. Once secure, we can then build a custom made implant abutment (a post) and a porcelain crown. The number of missing teeth will determine the proper course of treatment. Whether it be a single implant crown, multiple implant crowns, an implant supported bridge or even an implant supported denture.
At Goodkin & Pilek Family Dentistry LLC, Dr. Goodkin has had extensive training and received his Fellowship distinction from the International Congress of Oral Implantology, therefore all of you implant needs can be addressed here in our office.
